Job Purpose:
Supports business and K12 education operations by recommending, implementing, and maintaining hardware and software installations.
Duties:
- Provides technical support to customers either onsite or remotely to resolve issues and maintain optimum operating environment on the customer’s behalf.
- Assists customers by advising in the definition of business and technology operations enhancements.
- Develops proposals to help customers maintain operating efficiency by recommending, developing, implementing, maintaining new and existing technology infrastructures.
- Completes projects by upgrading current software for different operating systems, compilers, utilities, databases, and networks; establishing target dates; monitoring installation and operation.
- Maintains system performance by acquiring new software and hardware.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; effecting repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains consistent applications by establishing company standards.
- Helps users accomplish job results by training and coaching personnel.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Prepares activity reports including time and billing information and other paperwork or documentation as required by the company or requested by the customer.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning by utilizing self-studies, by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing inter-personal networks.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks and delivering results to meet company needs and customer expectations.
Skills/Qualifications:
Proficient with Windows Server 2003/2008 and Active Directory management, Knowledge of managed switches and wireless networks, Firewall installation and management with an emphasis on content filtering.
Employee must be comfortable training customers, including teachers and business professionals. Important skills are: Technical Zeal, Quality Management, Project Management, Planning, Network Performance Tuning, Network Security, Process Improvement, and Problem Solving.
